This book is a travel sketchbook drawn by Katsumi Komagata in 2005.
As he drew the scenery he saw on his trip, new ideas came to him, and he sketched many of them.
The POP SCOPE is a series of three-dimensional animal created by Katsumi Komagata using layers of paper.
The prototype was made around 1998, and sales began in 2002.
Starting with the animal, flowers, clouds, and insects were eventually introduced.
This sketchbook shows the process of coming up with the idea for the Modern series.
When designing, He always said one thing: “Did you draw the sketches?”
He always taught us from his own experience that when we move our hands, our thoughts move as well.
We think this is important for us who will live in the future.
